Clark Holds Off Filipkowski to Claim 2026 Challenge Cup Series Championship at Watkins Glen International

Matt Clark emerged as the 2026 Challenge Cup Series champion following a dramatic season finale at Watkins Glen International, finishing the year with 181 points. Jeff Filipkowski made a determined late-season charge over the final three races and carried the title fight to the last event, but Clark held on to secure the championship by just two points. Filipkowski finished second with 179 points, followed by Bill Hannum in third with 161. Sherman Engler placed fourth with 132 points, and Guy Bellingham completed the top five with 111 points.

Filipkowski’s closing run transformed the championship into a two-driver showdown, applying pressure to Clark through the final stretch of the schedule. At Watkins Glen International, Clark did enough to protect his advantage and cap the season with the narrowest championship margin.
